National Nerd Day.

Today I met a mandrake.

I also was in Dolores Umbridge’s office:

Kittens!

Kittens!

Overall the Harry Potter marathon was a success. We watched The Prisoner of Azkaban (or whatever), The Goblet of Fire, and The Order of the Phoenix. When we went to go rent the last film, since it is the only one we don’t own yet :( , the Blockbuster employee had a Deatheater Mark tattoo. Creepy!

Then Exal (my roommate) and I went to the exhibition and got the audio tour, which was really cool because it was the set designers and costume peeps commenting on the props. Did you know Daniel Radcliffe was such a tiny little boy! Exal also got assigned to Gryffindor via the Sorting Hat. Congratulations Exal!

We saw Moon last night and it was really amazing. The graphics were simple enough so that they can withstand time and Sam Rockwell was amazing, I think he is totally gonna get some awards for this film. Go and support this film when it comes to a theater near you, it really is a fun film.

Okay, I’m tuckered out, I’m just gonna watch The Tudors and rest.

Alright, Alright, Alright

Being unemployed is seriously boring. Doing nothing all day is a bummer.

Today, I went to Borders with my Super Coupon to buy one history and one fiction book. I selected The Gunseller by Hugh Laurie (dreamy!) and Public Enemies to read before the film comes out in a couple of weeks.

Assuming Public Enemies would be a history book I checked out, but Borders doesn’t classify it that way so no super savings.

Anyways, speaking of dreamy:

Sam Rockwell in Moon

Sam Rockwell in Moon

Moon directed by Duncan Jones (aka Zowie Bowie) opens tomorrow here in Chicago and my roommate and I are super excited for the doppelganger sci-fi flick. Plus it stars Sam “I’m sexy and 40″ Rockwell.

Check out the trailer

Recently I went to a gala for the Film Center where Iron Man 2 film director Jon Favreau interviewed George Lucas. After the gala I went up to Favreau to ask him about Rockwell’s role in IM2 but got interrupted, so my conversation with him was, “Hey, good interview, I’m a filmmaker…” cut off.

Oh well, I like creating connections so that I am only one degree away from the stars. It makes me feel special.

After we see Moon tomorrow on Saturday we have an action pack day lined up.

We will be watching Harry Potter 3, 4, and 5. In order to prepare for an 8pm visit to the Harry Potter Exhibition at the Museum of Science and Industry.

Hopefully seeing some pretty wicked movie magic.

I’ll make sure to let you know how that goes. It’s gonna be a good unemployed weekend.
